Brookdale services and resources available online
To stay operational despite the confinement, Brookdale opted for online school. In fact, Brookdale makes almost all of its resources and services available online and keeps working to improve its functionalities. Student Affairs held a Zoom meeting with students on March 26 to make students aware of online services and how to use them.
The virtual meeting was hosted by Associate Vice President of Student Affairs Ysenia Madas, who introduced Brookdale President David Stout.
The president briefly explained the circumstances of these changes.
Director of Student Life and Activities Lauren Brutsman talked about the extracurricular activities at Brookdale. Students and the community can be virtually involved in clubs and organizations, games, contests, museums and possibly win gift certificates.
Stephanie Farrenkopf, a student success coach, said career advising is based on major and online appointments are available.
Stephanie Fitzsimmons, Director of Financial Aid, said the process to apply for financial aid and scholarship are the same.
Christopher Jeune, Director of Student Conduct and Compliance, talked about online tutoring and noted that math and science labs and the writing center are available for online appointments.
Madas said class registration, the Helping Hands office, transcripts, financial aid and scholarships as well as federal work-study and career and leadership support are all available online.
However, official decisions on such things as the testing center reopening, summer tuition extensions, and graduation date are still pending.
