“Why do we fall down Master Bruce? So, we can pick ourselves back up again.” Well, that is exactly what Robert Pattinson did in the incredible new movie, “The Batman.”
This new movie, which shows the story of how vigilante Batman, also known as the playboy billionaire Bruce Wayne, takes down the serial killer who goes by the name “The Riddler.”
While battling this sadistic killer, Batman also finds himself engulfed in Gotham City’s underworld, where he battles longtime mob boss, Carmine Falcone, as well as The Penguin. During his ongoing battle, Batman also finds himself tangled up in a relationship with Seline Kyle, also known as Catwoman. But is this relationship a healthy and loving one? Or one filled with ulterior motives?
As a major fan of Batman, I was hesitant and worried about Pattinson portraying the new playboy billionaire. However, to say Pattinson blew me away would be an understatement.
The way Robert Pattinson brought Batman to life, yet again, was unlike any other. To compare him to other actors who have taken on the role, such as Christain Bale and Michael Keaton, would be unfair as they all brought a different aspect of the character to life.
However, Pattinson did something that no one expected. He became Bruce Wayne and the defender of justice through Batman. Many people had reservations about the former “Twilight” star playing this role, but his portrayal was by far the most intriguing and incredible part of the film. His chemistry with Zoe Kravitz, who portrayed his love/hate relationship interest Catwoman, also made audiences feel the fire and heat between the two characters.
Both Kravitz and Pattinson did their characters justice in bringing them to life and exceeding expectations brought on by past actors who took on the roles.
Finally, the roles of The Riddler, Carmine Falcone and The Penguin all added the necessary villainous feeling throughout this dark picture. All three villains added their own flare of drama, fear and suspense. Each character was just as scary as the next and deserved the vengeance and justice that Batman must bestow upon them. A
lthough Harley Quinn and the Joker are two of the most well-known and popular Batman villains, myself being one of those who loves them, it was nice to see a few different villains terrorizing Gotham City and seeing some of the horror other villains create for Bruce Wayne.
Although this long movie does have a few slow moments, they are still interesting and important to the story. When hearing the movie is almost three hours long, many people might hesitate about sitting through that long of a film. However, I highly recommend that you watch it as even though it is long, every moment is needed and interesting.
There is so much that can be said about this incredible movie. So much that I could easily write forever, but I will leave it at this. “The Batman” is a movie that exceeds expectations in every sense. Between the phenomenal acting, the intense cinematography, the incredible plot and the outstanding screenplay, this movie is not one to be skipped.
