A Letter From Brookdale President Dr David Stout on the Corona Virus

Dr. David Stout

Dear students,

The health and safety of all members of the Brookdale community are always our paramount concern. Governments and health agencies worldwide have taken various steps to inform the public about the coronavirus outbreak in an effort to prevent its spread among populations.

We remain in contact with officials from the New Jersey Department of Health and Office of the Secretary of Higher Education, among others, to monitor the evolving coronavirus outbreak and in providing information regarding how to avoid its spread or to seek treatment if you are experiencing symptoms.

As of the time of this email, there are no confirmed cases in New Jersey — and we want to keep it that way.

Some helpful tips from health agencies:

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap for at least 20 second and frequently, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing

Use sanitizers when water is not available

Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough

Stay at home if you are sick

Consult your physician if you are ill or displaying symptoms

Brookdale is a diverse community of inclusion and respectful of individuals from all backgrounds. As the coronavirus situation continues to develop, we will share additional guidance and information from the appropriate agencies.
