Study smarter, not harder: If that sounds like a good idea, head to the Reading Center at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26 for a free workshop on “essential college study skills.”
The program is part of a weeklong series of workshops the Reading Center is holding through March 1 geared toward “unlocking your college potential.”
The one-hour sessions will be held in LAH124 and will include free snacks and giveaways.
Tuesday’s session will be a crash course in note taking and will focus on learning strategies for identifying and organizing important information in textbooks and begins at noon.
Wednesday’s session will focus on time management and begins at 12:30 p.m.
Thursday’s lecture from noon to 1 p.m. will be on mastering notetaking.
Friday’s workshop on test-taking strategies will be virtual and take place from noon to 1 p.m. on Zoom.
Aside from the workshops, the Reading Center provides academic support for all Brookdale students enrolled in any course who need assistance in applying reading strategies in their coursework.
Students can meet with an instructional assistant for a 45-minute long, one-on-one in-person or online appointment with professional tutors.
