Brookdale’s EOF program is hosting a Poetry Slam 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4 in the Twin Lights rooms, lower level of the SLC.
Students, faculty and staff are all invited to peform or simply come enjoy a night of creativity and expression.
EOF, the Educational Opportunity Fund, program will provide food and refreshments and urges students to come hungry and spread the word.
Here a poem submitted by Ava Boschulte inspired by the upcoming event:
In the pages of stories where voices unite,
The CURRENT flows boldly, bringing truth to light.
With pen as your compass, you navigate seas,
Crafting the narratives that set minds at ease.
Through ink and through words, you capture the day,
And in the realm of poetry, your passions convey.
Each article a stanza, each headline a rhyme,
In the dance of expression, we celebrate time.
On November 4th, we invite you to share,
At the Poetry Slam, let’s show that we care.
Bring your insights, your stories, your spark,
Together we’ll weave a tapestry that leaves its mark.
So join us for a night where creativity flows,
In the heartbeat of journalism, our community grows.
With The CURRENT in spirit and poetry’s grace,
Let’s amplify voices and find our place!
