During its regular meeting Nov. 25, the Student Life Board discussed a wide range of activities, including a gingerbread house decorating contest and the possibility of a Pokémon Go club. The club applied for Student Life and Activities recognition recently naming Dr. Jones as the adviser.
The Gingerbread Showdown will take place during college hour, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, in the Student Life Center. At the meeting last month, it was decidd that the confectionary homes will be worked on by two creators each with two houses sharing a table. The showdown will award a $50 gift card to the winner and a $25 gift card to the runner-up.
At the same Novelty Day event students will be able to make personalized cards with PersonnaCards.
“I feel like, just in general, the Student Life Board is a leadership experience, and I also enjoy being involved at the school with other students as part of a team,” said Ben Kuleshov, a 20-year-old computer science major from Holmdel, who serves as SLB vice president, after the meeting.
