The Innovation Network (TIN) held an event Dec. 12 designed to support student success by exposing more students to a variety of support systems and services on campus.
Called A Helping Hand, the lunchtime event provided free pizza and encouraged students to visit with clubs, such as the Nectar Club and Women In Learing and Leadership, a representative of the Writing Center, a research librarian, Clara’s Closet (a free on-campus thrift shop) and more.
Drawing more than 80 people, the event also featured a positivity workshop by Prof. Marlena Brothers Frank, a life coach and public speaker. Frank is the creator of BOOST, a five-step solution for a happier life.
The event also introduced the Nutrition Hub and the Caroline Huber Wellness Center to several students who had never visited before.
TIN Vice President Atiqa Amjad, a 19-year-old computer science major from Raritan, serves slices in the Nutrition Hub of the Caroline Huber Wellness Center.
Ingrid Tapia Estrada, the Wellness Club secretary, a 20-year-old math education major from Neptune City, helps introduce the Wellness Club to students.
TIN President Maurice Parks, a business major from Jersey City, led his club in creating, planning and running the event.
