The Sweetheart Social Valentine’s Day event was hosted by Student Life and Activities (SLA) on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Students were greeted with red heart balloons and wrapped long stem roses while Bruno Mars played through the speakers, in the MLK lounge during college hour in the Student Life Center.
Student’s like Mark Robbins, a 21-year-old, auto tech major from White House Station, “had no clue” the event was going to happen. However, Chelsea Mistretta, an 18-year-old undecided major from Eatontown was notified via the SLA text alert. Mistretta said she attended the involvement fair, but she is not a member of any clubs.
The event offered giftbags filled with candy, cupcakes, cookies and brownies, plus hot and cold refreshments. Students were seen walking around the Lincroft campus with their treats. Others sat with friends at the events. Sybila Tavara, a 37-year-old, health science major from Long Branch and Francini Méndez, 29-year-old, health science major, from Highlands, were among those who took the opportunity to relax and enjoy.
Featured at the event was Personacards, which returned to Brookdale to provide handmade personal cards for Brookdale students attending the event.
