“Invincible,” a show created by Robert Kirkman and produced by Amazon Prime Video, follows a superpowered teenager named Mark “Invincible” Grayson as he struggles to find his way as a hero.
With the return of Amazon Video’s “Invincible” for a third season, fans have been speculating what plotlines, cameo roles and adventures await the main character.
Grayson, where we left off in season two, was the victor of an all-out battle between himself and the villain of the previous season, Angstrom Levy. Levy used his ability to travel dimensions to torment and leave Grayson stranded on multiple realities. Through the fight, Levy antagonized Grayson until he had enough, ultimately ending the fight, or so we thought.
Throughout the ongoing weekly debut of the third season, fans have been teased with the possibility of Levy’s return. With the release of the seventh episode on March 6, fans will be delighted to hear that Levy did in fact make his reintroduction, and it was eventful to say the least.
During the end credits of episode six of the third season, it is revealed that Levy has been spying on Grayson all this time and gathered a group of alternate versions of “Invincible” from very differing realities with the intent to wreak havoc on the world of the main Grayson.
The events of season one, including the fight between Grayson and his dad, Nolan “Omni-man” Grayson, resurface as Grayson is forced to confront the consequences of their fight. Aaron Paul is now ,part of the cast for season 3, portraying Scott “Powerplex” Duval, a once beloved brother turned villain following the passing of his sister during the events of Grayson’s fight with his father in Chicago.
The introduction of Duval’s character serves as a grim reminder of what Grayson blames himself for. Duval’s rage serves as motivation in his misguided mission to get justice for his sister by defeating Grayson. Yet, in reality, Grayson was the one trying to save Duval’s sister.
During the events of what the fans have deemed “Invincible war,” Levy’s arrival with his group of alternate Graysons to lay waste to the world, Duval has an encounter with one of these alternate Graysons and goes on to destroy a prison. Duval, after all was said and done, made sure to remind those around him lucky enough to survive the ordeal that yet again a tragedy unfolded at the hands of “Invincible.”
In the season finale, which arrived March 13 on Amazon Prime Video, Jeffrey Dean Morgan takes on the role of Conquest, a stronger and older authority amongst his people with similar power to Grayson.
