Graduating students are eligible to run for a one-year position serving on the Brookdale Board of Trustees, the policy-making body of the college, which is “charged with the oversight and control of the college.”
Graduating students will vote on Canvas from April 29 to May 1 to choose the graduate who will represent the student voice on the board.
Those who are eligible to run for the Graduate Trustee position for the 2025-26 school year must submit a form and written statement of 500 words or less, explaining why they are seeking the position and what they would hope to accomplish while on the board. Once they complete the application and statement, students who are seeking election will send their information to Cynthia Gruskos, senior assistant to the president and the board, at cgruskos@brookdalecc.edu.
All applications must be received either by email or in person by 5 p.m. Monday, April 21. Election rules are established by the Office of Student Life and Activities.
Students’ statements and their optional photos will then be uploaded to Canvas on Wednesday, April 23.
The winner of the Graduate Trustee election will be announced on Friday, May 2. The graduating student who is elected will serve as Graduate Trustee on the Board of Trustees for the 2025-25 school year and will be sworn in to their position in July.
