Are you passionate about math? If so, then Brookdale Math Club might be the perfect place for you.
“The club is for anyone interested in math, and it doesn’t matter what level of math they are in as long as they want to learn,” said President Alyan Khan, a 19-year-old engineering student from Oakhurst.
The Math Club meets noon to 1:15 p.m. every other Tuesday in MAS 100 with the next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Typical Meeting
During a typical meeting, the Math Club discusses future events and opportunities for people interested in math or STEM in general. For example, at the last meeting, members talked about what a REU (Research Experience for Undergrads) is and how to apply for one.
Occasionally, the club also hosts lessons on intriguing math topics. However, the most important aspect of the club is the relaxed and welcoming environment, “at the end of the day we came here to relax,” said secretary Alejandro Edmundo Garcia Herrejon, a 24-year-old mechanical engineering student from Mexico City.
Future Events
The Math Club is organizing a Princeton tour on Thursday, Dec. 6.
In the spring semester, they plan to take a tour to the Federal Reserve and will host a campus or beach cleanup.
