The NFL playoffs are in full effect, with the Super Bowl being just under three weeks away. The field for the championship games in both the AFC and NFC are set.
In the AFC championship game, it is going to be a matchup of two of the better quarterbacks in the NFL for the past five years or so.
In the NFC championship game, a rookie quarterback will try to make it to the Super Bowl by beating the team that has been in the championship game more than any other team in the past 20 years.
At 3 p.m. Eastern Sunday, Jan. 26, quarterback and rookie sensation Jayden Daniels will lead the Washington Commanders into the city of Brotherly Love to square off against the Philadelphia Eagles. The winner gets a trip to New Orleans to play in the Super Bowl.
The Commanders are coming off a thrilling 45-31 victory over the Detroit Lions. Daniels once again played like a veteran and played really good football. The Commanders defense gave up 521 total yards but forced five turnovers from the Detroit offense.
The Commanders did not turn the ball over. They held the Lions to just 3/6 in the red zone. A huge reason why they are still playing, and Detroit is not.
It was not all pretty though, as right guard Sam Cosmi is out for the rest of the season after suffering a torn ACL, a big blow to the Commanders offensive line. Can Daniels continue his phenomenal rookie season with yet another road playoff win?
As for Philadelphia, it was a much more stressful game. The Eagles defeated the Los Angeles Rams in a snow game 28-22. Saquon Barkley continued his historic season with over 200 rushing yards against the Rams, yet again. The Eagles pass game is a bit worrisome with AJ Brown and Devonta Smith combining for just 6 catches and 35 yards. Jalen Hurts did leave the game momentarily as he injured his knee when being tackled.
Rookie corner Quinyon Mitchell also left the game early and did not return due to a shoulder
injury. According to many reports, both Hurts and Mitchell will play Sunday. This is huge news
for Philly as they get their quarterback and rookie corner who has played like a pro bowler on the
field.
At 6:30 p.m. Eastern, on Sunday, Jan. 26, the Kansas City Chiefs play host to the only team to defeat the Chiefs in the regular season, when their starters play, the Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen leads the Bills to his second career AFC championship game.
Patrick Mahomes leads the Chiefs to their seventh straight championship game. Yes, you heard that right. Every year under Mahomes, the Chiefs have made it to at least the championship game.
The Bills are coming off an intense and well fought battle against the Baltimore Ravens.
If it were not for a drop by Mark Andrews on a 2-point attempt to tie the game, we may be talking
about Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
Considering the Bills were the only team to defeat Mahomes and the Kansas City starters, they have the best shot at knocking the No. 1 seed out. Josh Allen and James Cook combined for 28 rushing touchdowns in the regular season. With possible snow on Sunday, the Bills will rely on this duo and rightfully so.
The Chiefs are coming off a win against the Houston Texans, who many believed were not going to make it past the Wild Card round. Kansas City handled business as they won 23-14.
An old rivalry and a new one. Allen vs Mahomes. Daniels vs Hurts. Trips to the Super Bowl are on the line. Only two can make it. Who will it be?
