We briefly described the Self-Study process in the last Middle States (MSCHE) article; now, you may wonder where we are in the process.
We’ve taken some significant steps. The Steering Committee, which is made up of faculty, staff and administrators, has been hard at work. Their first move was to create seven working groups, each focused on a specific standard set by the MSCHE. These standards cover academic quality, student support services, governance, and institutional planning.
The working groups are busy collecting information and evidence about how well our college meets those standards. The Steering Committee developed a Self-Study Design (SSD) to guide our work. Think of the SSD as the blueprint that outlines how we will complete the process and write our final Self-Study Report.
Once our design receives the green light from MSCHE, we’ll move full steam ahead toward completing the report.
We need YOU. At the heart of all this is a commitment to show continuous improvement—for you and future students. If you’re curious, want to get involved and be part of a group, or have something to say, keep an eye out for forums and other opportunities to share your thoughts.
Your input matters more than you know. If you want additional information about getting involved, please get in touch with Steering Co-Chairs Michael Elmes and Debbie Almeida. [email protected] and [email protected]
