Over the past few months, the Brookdale College community has been hard at work gathering the required evidence for our Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Self-Study. This evidence—everything from policies and reports to examples of student work and support services—serves as the foundation for demonstrating how our college meets MSCHE’s standards of excellence.
With this critical step completed, we’ve now entered an exciting new phase of the process: Narrative Writing.
What Is the Narrative? The narrative is where our seven working groups take all of the collected evidence and begin weaving it into a story.
The narrative is more than just a compliance exercise. It is an opportunity to reflect on who we are as an institution, what we are most proud of, as well as where we can continue to grow. In short, it’s our chance to tell our story—to ourselves, to MSCHE and to our future students. There will also be an opportunity to show how our college is living out its mission.
As the narrative writing continues, we will keep you updated. This is our story as a college community, and your voice will play an essential part.
