Bipolar type II disorder has many effects on a person’s life as well as those around them.
As part of the Stories of Resilience: Student Stigma Free Series, a Brookdale student, Brooke, will share her journey with bipolar II from diagnosis through hypomanic and depressive episodes, treatment, and recovery. The talk will reflect on how hospitalization, therapy, medication and intensive outpatient programs shaped experiences in high school and college, influenced relationships, and impacted daily life. The speaker will also share past struggles with self-harm and the ongoing process of healing, growth and learning to manage mental health with resilience and self-awareness.
