The victim reported missing keys at approximately 1:15 p.m. The white four-door Forte was parked at 10 a.m. and was reported missing at 2:40 p.m.
The BCC Police Department is investigating.
Because “auto theft is often a ‘crime of opportunity’” police issued a set of safety tips. They are:
* Protect your keys; don’t leave them in your car.
* Close all car windows and lock your car doors whenever you leave the car, regardless of how long you think you will be away from it.
* Don’t leave valuables in your car, especially in plain sight.
* Park in well-lit areas, and be aware of your surroundings.
* Immediately report any suspicious activity on the Brookdale/Lincroft campus to the Brookdale Community College Police Department at 732-224-2222, or to any Brookdale Community College Police or Security Officer, at any Brookdale property.
