Bake Sale Raises Domestic Violence Awareness

Bake+Sale+Raises+Domestic+Violence+Awareness

In their Introduction to Public Relations course, Abby White, Kailley Cohen, Katie Firth and Alan Ramirez were assigned to raise awareness for the Stephanie Parze Foundation.
On April 15, the group held a bake sale and public awareness event on the Upper Patio of the Student Life Center from noon to 3 p.m.
During the event, students and faculty purchased baked goods, stopped by to meet Parze Foundation representatives and listened as Ed Parze spoke about the tragic loss of his daughter, Stephanie Parze to domestic violence. Stephanie Parze, a former Brookdale student, was just 25 when she was killed in 2019.
The public relations students worked on planning and promoting the event for more than two months, and also baked and packaged the many offerings.

Danielle Williamson, 19, from Middletown, and Talyah Unger, 19, from Freehold, both public relations majors at Brookdale Community College, show the baked goods they purchased.

The large display featured brownies, cupcakes and a variety of cookies including chocolate chip, snickerdoodle and a chocolate vanilla egg-based cookie.
