On Monday, Feb. 26, Science Mondays will present a lecture on New Jersey’s bats.
Mackenzie Hall, a biologist with the N.J. Department of Fish and Wildlife Endangered and Nongame Species Program, will present the program, which begins at 6:30 p.m. with light refreshments and the lecture beginning at 6:45 p.m.
Hall will describe the fascinating world of bats, focusing on the nine species that reside in New Jersey. Hall will explain how these secretive creatures survive the four seasons, and the many ways they are beneficial to people. She will also discuss modern threats to bat populations and the research and conservation efforts taking place in New Jersey to protect these flying mammals.
The program takes place in the lower level of the Student Life Center in the Twin Lights Rooms.
