Five years ago, in the midst of COVID, The Innovation Network (TIN) created the butterfly garden and Monarch Waystation on the Student Life Center’s lower patio. Today, the garden needs your help.
A cold and snowy winter has brought serious damage to the garden. Last week, TIN attempted to prep the garden for the season and found part of the garden wall has disintegrated along with other damage that needs to be repaired. Doing this will take funds and labor.
The Brookdale Foundation has a line item set aside for butterfly garden donations. If you are able, please donate, even just a small amount, to this cause. To do so, please use the website below. When prompted to select a fund, choose “Other” from the dropdown menu and enter “Butterfly Garden.”

Additionally, as adviser to TIN, I will be working with the students and an advisory board of a few TIN alumni to devise renovation plans. We will need volunteer labor once the plan is created. If you would like to be notified to come help rebuild the garden, please send me an email at [email protected] or leave your name in the comments.
The garden was created to give students a calm place to relax, to educate the community about our environment and to provide a refuge for endangered butterflies.
TIN has greatly appreciated having the campus community’s support of this project over the years and hopes to restore the garden for your enjoyment as soon as possible.
