Throughout the semester, Brookdale Student Life and Activities hosts a number of events and that number seems to keep growing. Yet, many students don’t get involved. Here’s a rundown of just one of the events those students are missing out on.
The Bloom & BBQ event was held on April 24 and featured music, food and a plethora of games, including one labelled “Dunk the President.” There students were given the opportunity to hit a target and have a water balloon drop on Dr. David Stout’s head.
Other games included bumper cars, a last person standing game where one is given a foam spear to knock the other off the platform, and even a game similar to the ride-the-bull attractions.

“It’s a beautiful day,” said Carmine Isaac, a 19-year-old biology major. “I like the food. I like the music; it’s really great.”
DJ Skillz, a New Jersey local talent, kept the event energized and invigorating, blending songs spanning from the early 2000s to now.

“This event in general is for socializing at the end of the semester and celebrating a good year, graduation and to celebrate students,” said Student Life Director Lauren Brutsman.
Though the event has passed, students are still encouraged to involve themselves any way they can and take part in events next semester.
