Brookdale is inviting all students, faculty and staff to put on their parade gear and join in celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at one of three areas parades.

Parades are being held in Asbury Park, Freehold and Keansburg.

The parades are set to be in Freehold at 12:30 p.m. and Asbury Park at 1 p.m. on March 12. A third parade, on Sunday, March 26, will begin at 1 p.m. and will be held in Keansburg.

Edward Johnson, Brookdales’s Executive Director Governmental Affairs & Community Relation, said “A variety of community, business and civil groups participate in the parades with thousands … attending each parade.”

Parade check-in for the Asbury Park parade takes place between 10:30 a.m-12:30 p.m. The parade is to march south on Ocean Avenue, turn onto Cookman Avenue and end on Main Street. Event organizers expect the march to last 20 minutes. Check in for parade participants will take place on the corner of Seventh Avenue and Kingsley Street.

Lineup for the Freehold Parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. on West Main Street and is meant to run down Main Street and end at the Freehold Elks lodge. Event organizers are also hosting a series of competitions including, best dressed child under 3, best dressed adult, best decorated motorcycle, best dressed dog and best decorated bicycle.

The Keansburg Annual St. Patrick’s Day parade will begin on Beachway Avenue and continue onto Main Street before ending at Church Street and Railroad Avenue.
